The AnalyticsFX live chart, alerts and Telegram
A streaming chart with classic studies, your own indicators and ours, drawing tools that remember your style, alerts you set straight from the chart, and delivery to Telegram once you link the bot.
The live chart is where most sessions on AnalyticsFX start and end. It is also where you now set alerts, run the AnalyticsFX indicators and get a message on Telegram when something you care about happens. This post walks through all of it.
The live chart
The live chart is the first tab of the terminal. Prices stream into it on supported symbols, and a badge in the corner tells you whether the feed is live, still connecting or showing history only.
- Timeframes. 1m, 2m, 5m, 10m, 15m, 30m, 1h, 4h, 12h, daily, weekly and monthly. On Core and above you can type your own: 15 for 15 minutes, or 15h, 2d and 2w.
- Time zones. Show the time axis in UTC, in your local time, or in a market's own zone such as New York, London, Frankfurt or Tokyo.
- Layouts. Save the chart with its indicators and drawings as a layout, set one as your default, share it as a link, or import the layout you use in backtesting.
What each plan includes on the chart:
- History. Free reads 12 months of intraday bars, 24 months of hourly bars and 36 months of daily, weekly and monthly bars. Core and above open the full history.
- Indicators per chart. 2 on Free, 5 on Core, 10 on Terminal and 25 on Pro.
- Saved layouts. 1 on Free, 5 on Core, 15 on Terminal and 50 on Pro.
- Symbols streaming at once. 2 on Free, 10 on Core, 15 on Terminal and 20 on Pro.
Indicators on the chart
The indicator menu has 26 classic studies, from moving averages, Bollinger Bands and Parabolic SAR to MACD, RSI, CCI, DMI, OBV and Williams %R. Next to them sit three AnalyticsFX studies built on our own data:
- News. Economic calendar events marked on the chart, filtered by high, medium or low impact.
- Opens. Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly opens. Needs Core.
- COT positioning. CFTC net, long or short positioning of large speculators, commercials and retail in its own pane. Needs Core.
News, Opens and COT count toward your indicator limit like any other study.
Your own indicators live under My indicators. Build one in the Builder, save it, and add it to the live chart in one click. The chart asks before it runs a new piece of code for the first time.
The AnalyticsFX indicators
Two of our own indicators are sold as add-ons:
- Market Regime Pulse (MRP). Shades the chart background by market regime: green for long, red for short and white while a new regime is still unconfirmed. A timeframe mode (Low, Mid or High) sets how fast it reacts.
- Turning Points. Marks reversal signals where the 4H range is stretched, and draws the projected 4H range with its high, low and midpoint. Four models (Velocity, Baseline, Vol-adjusted and Composite) can be used alone or as a multi-confirmation, with a speed filter on top. It is built for timeframes below 4H.
There is no public product page for them. You buy them inside the dashboard: open the terminal and switch to the TV Indicators tab, which lists the AnalyticsFX indicators. Each costs €11 a month on any plan, billed monthly, and you can cancel at any time. It unlocks on your chart as soon as the payment is confirmed, and it does not count toward your indicator limit. Pro includes every AnalyticsFX indicator, so on Pro there is nothing extra to buy. Old links to the former indicator pages now lead to that tab.
The AnalyticsFX indicators run on the chart and in alerts. They cannot be used inside your own strategies.
Drawing tools and templates
The drawing toolbar covers what chart work needs:
- Lines. Trend line, ray, horizontal line, price line and path.
- Positions. Long and short position tools with their risk and reward.
- Measuring. Fibonacci with your own levels, price ranges and date ranges.
- Notes. Text, emoji, images, a freehand pen and a highlighter.
- Volume. Volume profile, anchored VWAP and fixed-range VWAP, from Core.
A magnet snaps points to the open, high, low or close (off, weak or strong, or hold Ctrl for a moment). Undo and redo work as you expect.
Every tool has a style panel, and styles can be saved as named templates per tool. Apply a template to a drawing and use it for new drawings of that type, or reset a drawing to the default style. Templates work on the live, backtest and arena charts. They are kept in your browser, so a new device starts with the defaults.
Alerts
Alerts are set where you are looking:
- Price. Right-click the price axis and choose Alert at the price you clicked. The alert appears as a line you can drag, pause or delete.
- Indicators. Click the bell next to an indicator in the legend and choose a condition: crosses above, crosses below, is above or is below a value or another line.
- Drawings. Right-click a trend line and choose Alert on cross.
- AnalyticsFX indicators. MRP can alert when the regime turns long or short, and Turning Points when a new turning point appears (on bars shorter than 4H). Both need the add-on or Pro.
The bell in the dashboard sidebar opens the Alerts panel with recent alerts, every active alert by source and how much of your plan you have used.
Which alerts on which plan
- Every plan: price alerts.
- Core adds: COT extremes, COT and price divergence, seasonal windows, seasonal and COT agreement, and alerts on your open forward testing positions (near the stop, at an R multiple, held too long).
- Terminal adds: ATR spikes and correlation spikes.
Active price alerts are capped at 3 on Free, 20 on Core, 50 on Terminal and 200 on Pro. Indicator alerts start on Core with 5, then 20 on Terminal and 50 on Pro. You get up to 10 alert notifications a day on Free, 100 on Core, 250 on Terminal and 500 on Pro.
How alerts are checked
Alerts are checked on our servers, not in your browser, so they fire while the chart is closed. They work on closed bars: market and position alerts are checked every 15 minutes, and indicator and script alerts every 5 minutes on bars from 5 minutes to weekly. That makes them a good fit for conditions on a closed candle and the wrong tool for scalping single ticks. Every alert arrives by email and in the Alerts panel.
Telegram
On Pro, alerts can also go to Telegram, Discord or your own webhook. Linking Telegram takes a minute:
- Open Settings and go to Notifications.
- Next to Telegram, click Connect, then Open Telegram.
- Telegram opens a chat with the AnalyticsFX bot. Press Start.
- The bot replies that your alerts will arrive there, and Settings shows that Telegram is connected.
The link is personal and expires after 30 minutes. If Telegram does not connect in time, click Connect again for a fresh one. Use Send test to check the channel at any time, and Remove to unlink it. A channel that keeps failing is paused, and a successful test resumes it.
Discord works through a channel webhook URL, and your own webhook receives each alert signed with a secret that is shown to you once, so your server can verify the sender. You can add up to 10 channels.
What alerts are not
An alert tells you that a condition you defined was met on a closed bar. It is not a trade signal, a recommendation or a guarantee that price will continue. Delivery can be delayed by the check cycle or by the channel itself, so never use an alert as your only stop. Trading involves substantial risk of loss, and every decision stays yours.
